Kbin is an ActivityPub link aggregator and microblog so Reddit-style communities can federate instead of living only as a silo.

It combines magazine-style communities with a microblog timeline so Reddit-shaped discussion can cross instance borders. Code lives on Codeberg (kbin-core). Operators keep moderation and hosting local while readers still follow remote magazines over ActivityPub.

Beside Lemmy it covers the Reddit-shaped Fediverse niche with a stronger microblog flavour on the same ActivityPub wire. Readers pick an instance for local norms and still subscribe across the network.
